Pacific Wharf Golden Vine Winery

This section of the Golden State pays tribute to California’s aviation history. The buildings resemble airplane hangars while the walkway have runway markings.

Soarin Over California (Opened February 2001)
This is the most popular attraction at California Adventure, and one of the best at the Disneyland Resort. Guests board a simulated hang glider, and soar over California vistas that are projected on a giant IMAX screen. This incredible experience is made all the more realistic with the gentle breezes that carry the scent of pine trees and orange groves. During your flight, you’ll soar over the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite, and pass over skiers as they head down the slopes of Lake Tahoe. From the desert to the cityscape, your journey ends in an unforgettable burst of fireworks. - FASTPASS Attraction

As you leave Condor Flats, you will come upon the Grizzly Peak Recreation Area, which resembles an abandoned Northern Californian gold mining operation. There are relics of the bygone days that were left behind. Keep an eye out for the old gold pans in the dry creek bed. The centerpiece of this section is Grizzly Peak, a 110 foot high bear shaped mountain that’s home to the Grizzly River Run attraction.

Grizzly River Run The story has it that when the gold ran out, a new enterprise was formed and the Grizzly Peak Rafting Company came into being. The result, the Grizzly River Run, is the wildest, wettest raft ride in the West. The six-passenger rafts start with a 45-foot high climb up Grizzly Peak, with drenching drops to follow. You’ll race down a California river through white water rapids, mountain caverns, waterfalls, and to a dizzying drop into the river gorge. There are two drops, the final one being the Grizzly-Go-Round. Guests drop 22 feet, while the raft spins 360º. Redwood Creek Challenge Trail - This is a huge children’s play area set in the California redwoods. There are plenty of fun things for kids to do along the trail. They can go through a redwood tree, play on the rock slide, cross the suspension bridges, climb rock cliffs, check out animal prints, and more. Find Kenai’s Spirit Cave and put your hand in the glowing bear paw print for a surprise. There is the Ahwahnee Camp Circle, where guests participate while listening to the story of the Magic of Brother Bear. Restrictions: Accessible to strollers and wheelchairs/ECVs. Closed captioning. STORES

Rushin’ River Outfitters – located next to Grizzly River Run, features clothing, postcards, maps, books, and outdoor related souvenirs. You can buy ponchos here to keep dry on the Grizzly River Run.

THE BAY AREA

This land is a tribute to San Francisco, the “City by the Bay”. The main attraction, Golden Dreams , is housed in a replica of the Palace of Fine Arts, which dates back to 1915. During the summer, concerts are held at the Golden State Park amphitheater.

Golden Dreams -
As you pass through a stately rotunda, you’ll enter this attraction that celebrates the history of California. The story is told by Califa, the spirit of California, who is portrayed by Whoopi Goldberg. The filmed journey traces the roots of California and follows the hardships and successes of the immigrants who made it what it is today. This thoughtful and sometimes humorous presentation leaves the audience with a renewed respect for the “ Golden State.” The show lasts 23 minutes

PACIFIC WHARF

Located between the Bountiful Valley Farm and Paradise Pier, guests cross the Pacific Wharf Bridge and enter an area representing the waterfronts of Monterey and San Francisco.

Boudin Bakery Tour - See how San Francisco’s famous Boudin sourdough bread is made fresh here at the Pacific Wharf. Bread is baked daily, and guests can taste a sample at the end of the tour. The bread is used for Disneyland Resort’s bread bowl soups and guests can purchase loaves.

Mission Tortilla Factory Tour - Learn how the Mission company makes flour tortillas. Guests are treated to a live demonstration, and can get recipes. At the end of the tour, guests are treated to a fresh, warm tortilla. Restrictions: Accessible to strollers and wheelchair/ECV.

Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill – Serves a mix of Californian and Mexican cuisine, featuring chicken and carne asada tacos, carnitas, burritos, nachos, salads. Lunch, dinner (Quick service)

GOLDEN VINE WINERY

The Napa Valley, renowned for its wine making, is represented at the Golden Vine Winery. There’s a small vineyard, both fine and casual dining, and wine tasting.

Seasons of the Vine - Learn how wine is made in California during this presentation held in a wine-aging room. From the grape producing vines, to the traditional barrel method, and finally to a glass of fine wine, the seminar follows the science and seasons that are a key factor in wine production. • The Vineyard Room – Located upstairs in the Golden Vine Winery, featuring California Cuisine. You can choose from a delicious variety of pastas, seafood, and gourmet salads in this sit down restaurant, as well as savor a glass of fine wine. (Wine pairings suggested.)
• Terrace Wine Tasting – Wine sampling that’s overseen by a wine expert. You can buy wine by the glass or bottle, and enjoy your selection at the counter or under the shady trees of the plaza. The experts are there to answer your questions about the products offered.
• Wine Country Trattoria – Delicious Italian cuisine featuring lasagna, pastas, grilled sandwiches, and soups. Guests can dine indoors or out on the patio. Lunch and dinner.
