As
you pass through the turnstiles to enter the park, walk past the
beautiful floral landscaping and through either tunnel to enter
the quaint re-creation of a street in Walt's boyhood home in Marceline,
Missouri. Main Street represents America as she was in the 1900s,
and you'll find shops, restaurants and vehicles to transport you
back to yesteryear. Be sure and check out the names of the "proprietors"
in some of the Main Street windows - these are some of the people
who helped Walt realize his dream of building Disneyland.
TIP:
Main Street can become very congested during parades and fireworks
shows. If you're not planning on watching the entertainment, plan
your schedule to be elsewhere in the park during the shows.
Disneyland® RAILROAD - Board an old-fashioned steam train
and ride around the park, with stops in New Orleans Square, Mickey's
Toontown and Tomorrowland. You'll also venture past the Grand Canyon
and Primeval World. The entire trip around the park takes about
20 minutes, or you can hop off at any stop. Must be fully ambulatory
to ride.
TIP:
The train is a great way to get around the park when parade routes are congesting major walkways.
MAIN
STREET CINEMA - This small theater shows black-and-white cartoon

Willie" (the 1928 film where a certain MOUSE and his friend
Minnie made their debut!). The theater is standing room only, no
seats, and is a cool and relaxing place to escape on a hot day.
It is fully accessible for those in wheelchairs.
MAIN
STREET VEHICLES - You can board a variety of vehicles from yesteryear,
including a Fire Engine, Horse-Drawn Streetcar, Horseless Carriage
and Omnibus for a one-way trip up or down Main Street. These vehicles
do not run during parades. Guests in wheelchairs must transfer from
the wheelchair to ride.
