San Francisco, California Shore Excursions



The following apply to all excursions:
-Guests should dress warmly, in layers and carry rain gear.
-Guests are encouraged to bring currency and credit cards to purchase extras such as souvenirs or snacks.
-You should never feel that gratuities are expected, but it is customary to leave a tip in recognition of exceptional service in restaurants, for taxis and for excursion guides and drivers. It is always up to you to determine the amount.

Alcatraz & Sausalito (5.5 - 6 hours)
Board a motor coach for an approximate 30-minute journey across the Golden Gate Bridge. After a stop at Vista Point for a fabulous view of the "City by the Bay", take a short ride into Sausalito Village. Note: The Golden Gate Bridge is often shrouded in fog.
Stroll along Sausalito's streets and browse the many specialty shops and galleries. Take in another breathtaking view of San Francisco before returning.
After your approximate 90-minute free time of exploring Sausalito, board your motor coach and drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and arrive at the Alcatraz ferry docks.
Enjoy a panoramic view of the famous San Francisco skyline during your ferry ride, and prepare to explore the "Rock" for approximately 100 minutes. Tour the small jail cells as an audio tour fills you with images of days gone by. Learn about the notorious prison that once housed the likes of Al Capone and the Birdman of Alcatraz.
Meet back at the designated point for your return, or choose to stay longer and return to the ship at your own pace.
-This tour is available to all ages; since it involves a boat/vessel, infants under 3 years of age must have a child's ticket.

-A $33 National Park Service Entry Fee is included in your ticket price.

Chinatown Walking Tour & San Francisco by Night (2.5 - 3 hours)
Board an air-conditioned motor coach for an approximate 15-minute transfer to San Francisco's Chinatown.
Enter the gates of San Francisco's famed Chinatown for your guided evening walking tour. Your senses come alive with sights and sounds as you discover the secrets of these narrow streets and alleyways. Explore Chinese markets, restaurants, theaters, herb shops, temples and more. You'll even visit a fortune cookie factory for good luck!
After your approximate 45-minute walking tour of Chinatown, reboard your motor coach and view exciting San Francisco by night.
Drive for approximately 1 hour past the glittering lights of Fisherman's Wharf and view Telegraph Hill, Coit Tower, the Broadway Strip and the historic Ferry Building.
Cross the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island and savor a breathtaking view of the city by night before returning to the pier.

Fire Engine Tour (1 - 1.5 hours)
Board a Big Red Shiny Mack Fire Engine (open air) and get ready to discover San Francisco in a fun and exciting fully narrated tour.
Depart the pier travelling through the Presidio to Fort Point, at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Travel over the Golden Gate Bridge towards Sausalito, a jewel of a village that has magnificent views of San Francisco.
Stop at Fort Baker for a photo opportunity (approximately 15 minutes) and head back across the bridge. Travel through the Union Street neighborhood before returning to the pier.
-Wheelchairs (collapsible or electric) are not permitted. Tour operators will deny participation to Guests arriving in wheelchairs or electric scooters.
-This tour is not stroller accessible.

Lasseter Family Winery (6 - 6.5 hours)
Journey to the Lasseter Family Winery with an approximate 75-minute transfer to Sonoma Valley, the birthplace of the California wine industry. During your ride, your guide will present you a brief history on Sonoma Valley's wine region and surrounding areas.
Arrive and be greeted by your host and winery owner, Nancy Lasseter and/or winemaker Julia Iantosca. During your visit to the Lasseter Family Winery you will be granted exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the heart of the winery to observe different stages of the wine making process.
Depending on 'Mother Nature', vineyard tours may include walking the vineyards to see the development of the grapes on the vine (weather permitting) and walking the estate learning about the elements of organic farming including the importance of insectaries. In the wine cellar, learn about the craft of winemaking while touring the cellar.
Conclude the vineyard and cellar tour and experience a seated tasting outdoors (weather permitting) or in our beautifully appointed barrel room with our certified Sommelier. You will be guided through a tasting of Lasseter Family Winery wines, paired with locally farmed, artisan cheeses.
Learn how to taste wine and make the experience approachable and fun while hearing the stories behind our labels and what makes our boutique winery so special. You will learn about the food and wine pairing process. Receive a beautiful booklet about the winery with information about all the wines and their wine club.
After your wine tasting, enjoy lunch catered by Guy Fieri's signature restaurant Johnny Garlic's, served with Lasseter wines. Nancy Lasseter and Julia Iantosca will join you for lunch to add colorful, heartfelt stories about the winery and the wines. You will lunch outdoors with views of the estate (weather permitting) or in the barrel room.
After lunch, you will also have time to browse the Lasseter Family Winery wines and merchandise should you want to purchase any souvenirs.
As your visit to Lasseter Family Winery comes to a close, you will receive a Lasseter Family Winery poster featuring four of their labels, signed by John and Nancy Lasseter.
Take the approximate 75-minute transfer back to San Francisco to continue your time ashore or return to the ship.

Monerey & Carmel (11 - 11.5 hours)
Board an air-conditioned motor coach for an approximate 3-hour scenic trip to the famed Monterey Peninsula, one of California's most scenic and historic areas.
Take in the scenery down the breathtaking California coast. Travel by luxury coach through the quaint beach towns of Santa Cruz and Capitola en route to Monterey.
Enjoy photo stops along the way, which provide an opportunity to view Monterey Bay and the rugged coastline.
Arrive in Monterey and have approximately 45 minutes of free time to explore the interesting sights and shops of Steinbeck's Cannery Row.
Meet for lunch at a local restaurant, where you'll enjoy a 3-course lunch that includes wine, beer, soft drinks and coffee (included in the price of your tour).
Next, board your coach and continue on to the seaside town of Carmel. Along the way, enjoy the picturesque scenery of the 17-Mile Drive. Known the world over, the 17-Mile Drive features spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. It is also known for its beautiful estates and mansions interspersed among the holes of the championship Pebble Beach Golf Course.
Upon arrival in Carmel, take a stroll along the picturesque streets of this charming town. You will have approximately 1 hour to browse the many local art galleries and specialty boutiques for which the town is famous.
Return to San Francisco through Silicon Valley, the heart of the high tech corridor where the dot-com era started.

Muir Woods &Sausalito (5 - 5.5 hours)
Board an air-conditioned motor coach for an approximate 30-minute fully narrated scenic drive across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods, a 550-acre National Monument across the Golden Gate Bridge.Muir Woods is home to some of the oldest coastal redwood trees in the world.
Receive a map of the park's various trails and enjoy approximately 90 minutes to explore on your own, choosing to do as much or as little as you want in this nature sanctuary. Muir Woods National Monument offers a quiet retreat in a growing urban setting. Known for its giant old growth stand of coast redwood trees, people from all over the world come to visit this special ecosystem.
Next, travel approximately 30 minutes to Sausalito Village, known as the Venice of the Pacific. There, you will have approximately 100 minutes to explore on your own and browse through many of Sausalito's art galleries, boutiques and specialty shops before crossing the bridge and arriving back at the pier.

Napa Valley Wine, Art & Culinary Experience (9 - 9.5 hours)
Meet your guide and board an air-conditioned bus for an approximate 90-minute drive to the picturesque Napa Valley, America's most well known wine making region.
Arrive at the Clos Pegase Estate Winery, where art and wine come together in a unique setting. Enjoy a stroll through the beautiful sculpture gardens and art-laden caves during the tour. A behind-the-scenes look at the production facilities provides an interesting insight into the world of wine making. Then enjoy a private tasting of their award-winning wines. Learn to appreciate the intricacies of the wine making process during the approximate 90-minute visit. Note: This tour includes extensive walking, part of which could be in cobblestones and stairs.
Reboard the bus and drive to the world-renowned Culinary Institute of America, where lunch will be served. This grand historic landmark was once the Christian Brothers Winery and is now home to the famous Greystone Restaurant. Guests will enjoy a 3-course gourmet meal prepared in the restaurant's famous open show kitchens. Savor the creations of some of America's finest future chefs during the approximate 2-hour stop.
End the day fittingly at one of Napa's most enchanting destinations, the exclusive Domaine Carneros winery, of Taittinger fame. This spectacular estate features an elegant Chateau inspired by Champagne Taittinger's historic Château de la Marquetterie in France. Entering via the grand staircase, you will enjoy inspiring views of the vineyards with beautiful gardens below. At this winery, you will see a completely different process as you learn how sparkling wine is made. Following your tour, delight in a special tasting with a local wine expert during the approximate 90-minute visit.
Be sure to take in the panoramic views from this spectacular estate, as you depart for your return trip to San Francisco and your awaiting cruise ship.

San Francisco by Private Vehicle (4 hours and up)
Embark on an unforgettable trip around San Francisco or its neighboring region via a private car, van or limousine and experience the freedom of following your very own itinerary at your own pace.
Reserve a vehicle prior to the start of your cruise and, when you dock in San Francisco, it will be ready and waiting to take you and up to 7 family members or friends to the places you most want to visit.
Each private vehicle includes one driver, but you can also reserve an experienced guide who will rendezvous with you in San Francisco and lead you on an eye-opening tour, and provide insightful and relevant information designed with your entire family in mind.
Excursions last a minimum of 4 hours, but you're invited to reserve additional time if you so desire.
-Confirmed prices include vehicle and driver. An optional tour guide is also available. Rates include driver gratuities, but not tour guide (if added).
-All requests are subject to availability/confirmation by the tour operator.
-Please note that refunds will not be issued once a confirmed booking has been made.
-Guests should be advised that the request for extended private vehicle hours is at the tour operator's discretion and availability. If your vehicle is available and you decide to exceed your reservation time, the tour operator will, upon completion of your excursion, advise Disney Cruise Line of the duration that your vehicle was used so that the appropriate additional charges will be made to your stateroom account.

San Francisco City Tour with Dim Sum Lunch (5.5 - 6 hours)
Board an air-conditioned motor coach for an approximate 60-minute fully narrated scenic drive along the Embarcadero toward downtown San Francisco. Continue on past Union Square and then head toward the famous Nob Hill.
Enjoy an approximate 30-minute stop at Nob Hill and visit Grace Cathedral.
Continue on past the Civic Center and view City Hall while your tour guide shares the history and facts of each landmark.
Arrive in Chinatown for a Dim Sum Luncheon at one of Chinatown's popular restaurants. Dim Sum is the Cantonese term for a type of Chinese dish that involves small individual portions of food, usually served in a small steamer basket or on a small plate.
After approximately 75 minutes at the restaurant, your tour takes you through the streets of North Beach, past Fisherman's Wharf, to Ghiradelli Square and by the Palace of Fine Arts. A photo opportunity awaits at Vista Point, just across the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge.
Then it's on to Golden Gate Park and Alamo Square (time permitting) before you return to the pier.

Sonoma Wine Country (7 - 7.5 hours)
Board an air-conditioned motor coach for an approximate 30-minute narrated scenic drive past Pier 39, through lively Fisherman's Wharf, along the Marina District, by the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio and across the Golden Gate Bridge. Arrive at Vista Point for an approximate 15-minute photo stop.
Continue into the valley and arrive in Sonoma, where the rich soils gave birth to California's wine industry. Sonoma is the closest wine region to San Francisco, just 45 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Start your wine tour at Nicholson Ranch Vineyards and Winery, nestled in the southern foothills of the Sonoma Valley. The ranch enjoys a combination of soils, sloping hills and climate that is ideal for producing outstanding wines.
After approximately 1 hour at the first vineyard, board the motor coach for a quick trip to Sonoma's historic town plaza, which offers a shady park and picnic grounds surrounded by charming boutiques, superb cuisine, educational landmark buildings, eclectic shops and fabulous restaurants.
Enjoy approximately 75 minutes of free time to browse the shops and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Note: Lunch is not included and Guests may choose from several local options.
Next, travel to Viansa Winery and Italian Market Place. Founded in 1988 by third-generation Sebastianis, Viansa was created as a way to share their love of good food, fine wine and Italian heritage. Viansa's tile-roofed Tuscan Villa sits high above the Sonoma Valley, making it a great photo opportunity.
Board your motor coach and return via the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. View San Francisco's picturesque skyline.

Wax Museum & Aquarium of the Bay at Leisure (time varies)
Walk from the pier to the San Francisco Wax Museum, located in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf.
Visit the museum at your own pace, and see more than 250 life-like personalities in over 57 colorful tableaux, each carefully detailed and lighted - many enhanced with informative audio effects. With the museum's frequently timely traveling exhibits, it is considered the largest collection of wax figures in North America. Each of the scenes in the Museum are unique; the Chamber of Horrors was designed to create a mood of horror and disbelief, while the hallowed Hall of Religions pays solemn tribute to the world's great living religions. The most popular section of the museum is The Gallery of Fame, including sports heroes, royalty, scientist, US Presidents, historical personalities and entertainment icons. The most recent arrivals include such glittering stars as Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt, Madonna and the newest figure, President Barack Obama.
Browse the local souvenir shop and enjoy a 25% discount, before continuing to your next destination, the Aquarium of the Bay at Pier 39.
Peruse the Aquarium's exhibits, which feature about 20,000 amazing marine animals from San Francisco Bay and nearby waters - ranging from sharks, rays and octopuses to delicate jellies and tiny tide pool animals. Daily events include live animal interaction, bat ray feedings and behind the scenes tours.
Complete your visit at your own pace and head back to the ship or continue exploring the Fisherman's Wharf.
