From the moment I stepped onto Disney property as a child, I was hooked. My very first trip was with my extended family, staying along the monorail loop, and from that point on, Disney became more than just a vacation destination — it became our family’s happy place. Every trip gave me something to look forward to, save for, and count down the days until we returned.

Having grown up in New Jersey, I chose Charleston, SC for college and earned a degree in education, but one of the most exciting parts of the re-location was realizing I was now only a quick five-hour drive to Central Florida and the magic I loved so much. Disney trips became easier, more frequent, and even more special.

When my husband and I honeymooned at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, he quickly fell in love with the magic too. Then came our very first trip with our children — a trip so exciting that I truly was “too excited to sleep.” Watching Disney through their eyes started an entirely new chapter for our family, and before long, I decided to leave teaching behind and turn my lifelong passion into a career with Dreams Unlimited Travel. That was over 20 years ago, and I’ve never looked back.

Since then, Disney has been woven into every stage of our lives. We’ve enjoyed large family vacations, multigenerational trips with grandparents, vacations with friends, and even spontaneous getaways for just my husband and me. One of the greatest joys now is having adult Disney children who still love the magic as much as we do. We love bringing along their friends who either haven’t visited since childhood — or have never been at all — and watching them experience that same Disney spark for the first time. Seeing them begin their own Disney traditions and countdowns is incredibly special.

Our love for Disney eventually expanded to the seas as well through Disney Cruise Line, where we discovered that the magic feels just as unforgettable onboard as it does in the parks.  Our goal is to sail on all of the Disney ships – almost there, but not yet!

As we look toward the future, we can already imagine sharing that same excitement someday with grandchildren and beginning the cycle all over again. For our family, Disney has never simply been a vacation — it’s where some of our happiest memories are made, year after year.

Some other destinations I’d love to help you plan!

  • Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa
